      4. Power market in Mexico (We’ve got your back)

      Electricity markets have traditionally been regulated power markets where utility companies own and control all the equipment from generators through to your electric meter. For operation and planning purposes, CFE separated the country into 17 distribution divisions (Network), which are further subdivided in the central region.

       

      There are currently 120 market participants, of which: 80 are Generador, 1 Suministrador de Servicios Básicos, 26 Suministrador de Servicios Calificados, 10 Comercializadores no Suministradores, 1 Generador de intermediación, 1 Qualified User and 1 Suministrador de Último Recurso participating in the Market. It should be noted that, among its main characteristics, are the following:
